Creating ideas for successful advertising

The idea behind setting up The Ad Shed was a simple one. Most good ideas are.

I had worked to Creative Director level in Edinburgh but wanted a new challenge. I have been fortunate enough to have art directed shoots on yachts in The Med., worked with Sir Richard Branson, commissioned The Spice Girl’s make-up artist and art directed film crews and stills photographers at the very top of their profession.

The next, logical step was to start my own advertising agency and offer my experience to businesses in and around my home area. Although adequately served by design groups, there was a distinct lack of advertising agencies in Tayside, Perthshire and Fife.

The Ad Shed now offers a full, creative advertising service that is more than a match for larger, more expensive agencies. Since 2003, I have consistently won business in the Central Belt. These clients appreciate the service I offer and benefit from the savings they make.

I strive to provide cost-effective advertising. As Creative Director in Edinburgh over seven years ago, my time was charged at £125ph. It is now almost a third of that rate with my retainer clients benefiting from The Ad Shed’s most competitive hourly rates.

The Ad Shed also offers discounted packages to new businesses. Seven years ago, The Ad Shed was a new business and I know that every bit of financial assistance helps. But it isn’t just start-up companies who benefit.

I also provide incentives to businesses with greater requirements by splitting their annual advertising spend into 12 monthly payments. This ‘retainer’ offering is currently favoured by my longest serving clients.

Building relationships is key to The Ad Shed and I go the extra mile to ensure my clients receive real value for money.
