Simplicity is the key to good advertising. It is having the ability to come up with strong ideas that convey a clearly defined message and consequently help to build a client’s brand.

My career in advertising and design began at Dundee College of Commerce in 1983 and concluded with a BA Hons Degree in Graphic Design, at London College of Printing in 1988. Since then, I have worked for agencies in London, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

I believe that if an idea is memorable – be it for execution as a press, radio or tv ad – it will be more successful in achieving its objective than one that is instantly forgettable.

Communication should be clean, simple and relevant. Forget the fluff, cut to the chase and don’t confuse your target audience.

Be different, stand out, get noticed and hopefully get talked about. 

By producing strong ideas and developing them into successful campaigns, The Ad Shed has been able to build client relationships throughout Tayside, Perthshire, Fife and the Central Belt. Relationships that last. Consequently, my clients are happy to recommend The Ad Shed to others.
